Modern Buddhism: The Path of Compassion and Wisdom | 3-week Mindfulness series

Discover how to use the ancient wisdom of Buddha’s teachings to solve our daily problems and make our life deeply meaningful. This course will make these timeless methods accessible to the modern practitioner, showing how we can integrate compassion and wisdom into every aspect of our modern lives and move towards our full awakening.
3rd October – What is Modern Buddhism?
This class will introduce Buddhism in general and the special practical presentation of Modern Buddhism in particular.
17th October – The Path of Compassion
Learn the essential teachings on Buddhist compassion. By abandoning harmful attitudes and cultivating pure compassion we can oppose anger and frustration, transforming our daily encounters with others into spiritual lessons.
24th October – The Path of Wisdom
To really help others and overcome our own delusions, we need to develop the wisdom of selflessness that is one of the main paths Buddha taught. This class will introduce this profound topic and help us to use it in our life.

The Resident Teacher at KMC London is Gen Kelsang Gomchen
Gen Kelsang Gomchen is a qualified Kadampa practitioner and teacher of Kadampa Buddhism. He has received extensive teaching of both Sutra and Tantra including the empowerments of Highest Yoga Tantra from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. He has completed an intensive Special Teacher Training Programme with our General Spiritual Director, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, and engaged sincerely in meditation retreats on both Sutra and Tantra. He is known for his ability to inspire others through sincere practice and to present the deeper meanings of Venerable-Geshe-la’s books in a way that is practical and relevant to all who listen. He has taught extensively throughout the UK and recently Venerable Geshe-la requested him to teach at KMC London in both the Temple and the new commercial space in Kensington.
