The Principal Teacher at KMC London is Gen Kelsang Gomchen.
Gen Kelsang Gomchen is a qualified Kadampa practitioner and teacher of Kadampa Buddhism. He has received extensive teachings of both Sutra and Tantra including the empowerments of Highest Yoga Tantra from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. He has completed an intensive Special Teacher Training Programme with our General Spiritual Director, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, and engaged sincerely in meditation retreats on both Sutra and Tantra. He is known for his ability to inspire others through sincere practice and to present the deeper meanings of Venerable-Geshe-la’s books in a way that is practical and relevant to all who listen. He has taught extensively throughout the UK and recently Venerable Geshe-la requested him to teach at KMC London in both the Temple and the new commercial space in Kensington.
LJ is an inspiring teacher of Kadampa Buddhism having studied and practised for many years in the UK as well as the US and Canada. She teaches the weekly class in Guilford as well as various weekend events. LJ brings to her teachings a wealth of both understanding and practical application of Buddhist practices within a busy life as a mother and engineer.
James is an experienced teacher of Kadampa Buddhism as well as a practising architect. He has been studying Kadam Dharma for over 20 years and brings to his teachings a wealth of experience and understanding. He currently studies on the Teacher Training Programme and has recently returned from a period of intensive meditation retreat. He is appreciated for his warm nature and the ease and simplicity with which he transmits Buddha’s teachings. James teaches regular classes at the Temple and various weekend events.
Kelsang Drolkar is a Buddhist nun who has been practising Buddhism for over 20 years. She has taught meditation classes and courses for many years in Belfast and more recently in England. Kelsang Drolkar is greatly admired for her knowledge and experience of Buddhist practices and for her ability to teach them and show their relevance and application to modern daily life.
Jan is a sincere and enthusiastic practitioner of Kadampa Buddhism and studies on the Teacher Training Programme at KMC London. She teaches the children’s classes and prayers for world peace classes on a Sunday in the temple. She is appreciated for kind heart and the experience she brings from integrating Buddha’s teachings into her life as both a parent and teacher.
Sarah works full time for Kadampa Meditation Centre London and is a dedicated student and practitioner. She previously has worked in corporate fundraising, marketing and publishing as well as helping to run other Buddhist centres. She has considerable experience in teaching meditation and brings to her teachings a gentleness and clarity that touches the heart of the listener.
Michael is originally from Ireland and is an experienced practitioner of Kadampa Buddhism having studied and worked in several Kadampa centres around the world for many years. He brings to his teachings a deep passion for Buddhism and is driven by a wish to make this ancient wisdom accessible to as many people as possible.
Andrew is a sincere practitioner of Kadampa Buddhism. He works as an artist and helped to complete much of the sacred art work adorning the Temple. He has been studying and practising Buddhism for many years and has engaged in many meditation retreats. Andrew teaches the weekly class in Beckenham as well as various weekend events.
Ellie is an actor and is currently studying Oriental medicine. She is a keen student and practitioner of modern Buddhism.
