This series will explore powerful meditations on taking and giving derived from the Buddhist mind training tradition through which we can heal our mind and powerfully enhance our love, compassion and wisdom.
There are four main benefits to the practices of taking and giving which are mentioned in Buddhist scriptures, they are powerful methods to:
- Purify the potentialities of non-virtuous actions that cause us to experience various difficulties and problems
- To accumulate a great collection of merit or good fortune
- To ripen our potentiality to benefit all living beings
- To purify our mind.
Wednesday 5 / Sunday 9 – Taking By Means of Compassion
A powerful meditation on compassion using the power of imagination and concentration that can be used to help others and solve our own inner problems.
Wednesday 12 / Sunday 16 – Giving by Means of Love
A special training in love that enables us to bring our future ability to give happiness to others into our present spiritual practice.
Wednesday 19 – Mounting Taking and Giving upon the Breath
In this class we will learn how to unite the two previous trainings with breathing meditation which has many profound benefits.
