Meditation is becoming increasingly recognized as an effective means to reduce stress and improve our quality of life, however it also has much deeper and far reaching benefits that have been understood by Buddhist practitioners for thousands of years.
These classes follow a cycle of 14 profound objects of meditation that form the Buddhist path to ultimate happiness. Each week will explore a different meditation and show how adopting this outlook can lead to deeper and deeper levels of happiness.
The teachings will be based on The Lamrim Meditations within How to Understand the Mind, which is the perfect companion for those attending the classes. Each week is self-contained but runs according to the cycle of 14 meditations.
The class contains two guided meditations, a talk introducing the object of contemplation and advice on how to carry the instruction into our daily life.
If we train in meditation our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful and we shall experience purer and purer forms of happiness. Eventually we shall able to stay happy all the time,even in the most difficult circumstances.
