What to expect:
These classes are open to everyone. They start with a welcome and guided breathing meditation to settle the mind, this usually lasts around 20 minutes.
Then there is an inspiring talk exploring practical methods derived from Buddha’s teachings to improve our daily happiness, solve our internal problems and move towards lasting peace of mind. The teacings are very practical in nature, drawing from everyday examples and showing how we can remain mindful of the insights we gain during the course of our daily life.
The class concludes with a second meditation, based on the ideas raised and some take away advice on how to implement the teaching into our day.
Classes run following a four-week series but can also be attended on a drop-in basis at any time as each class is also self-contained. See below for class details and block booking.

CHOOSE HAPPINESS | JANUARY 2019

Everybody wants to be happy and we look for it in every area of our life – at work, in our relationships, our hobbies and so forth. However, in our pursuit for happiness many people find just the opposite: we feel unhappy, depressed or simply lack self-esteem. Sometimes it feels like we’ve done everything right: we’ve got the job, success, car house, money, family and yet these things did not bring the happiness we thought they would. We are left questioning: Why am I so sad and unhappy? Why do these things not make me feel better in the long run?
Buddha’s answer to all these questions is very simple: we are looking in the wrong place! Until now we have tried to find happiness by constantly changing our external situation- we change partner or job, try to look good, achieve success but the good feelings never last and with these attainments come many things we don’t want. Buddha’s teachings tell us: if we want authentic lasting happiness, then rather than depending upon changing external conditions, you must learn to make yourself happy through establishing peace within your own mind.
This 4-week course provides an opportunity to do just that, to learn how to make ourselves happy by establishing its causes from within. Each week will explore the topic from a different angle and learn practical instructions we can apply immediately in our lives. Although it is beneficial to try and attend the whole series, the classes are self-contained and so can also be attended on a drop-in basis. No previous experience is necessary.
